Peace

 

What is peace with God? I'm glad you asked. You probably didn't even know there was a spiritual war going on. The Bible presents us with a picture of a absolutely holy God, so holy in fact that He is visualized as a consuming fire. We, on the other hand, try to be good. Of course, good  is kind of a relative term depending on who you talk to. So that is where the battleline is  - our "good" as apposed to Gods absolute holiness. The Bible states it even more clearly, " There is no one righteous, no not one. For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God."( See Rom 3:10 and Rom 3:23.)

So what can we do? God came up with a plan Himself.  It can be found in the Person of Jesus Christ. Here is the Bible reference; "For God sent Jesus to take the punishment for our sins and to satisfy God's anger against us." Rom 3:25.

 So, as we put our trust in Jesus for the forgiveness of sins, we experience the peace of God. As we take Jesus Christ into our hearts, to follow Him, love Him and lean on Him as our Savior, we are filled with the 'peace that passes understanding'. Sure, we still have troubles and sorrows, but God is there for us always. Let Him comfort and soothe you in the dark seasons of the soul. Trust Him, do not fear death, the future, or anything man can do, for it is all in Gods' Hands. He will see you though! Please, let the peace of God dwell richly in your hearts as you travel this road called life!
