The Blood shatters the Darkness
The Blood that Jesus shed on the cross contains eternal life. On this earth Jesus was the Vessel that held the Life. The blood line comes from the natural father, but, in His case, through the virgin birth with the Holy Spirit over shadowing her. Under Jewish law there was no forgiveness of sin without the shedding of blood. Yom Kippor is still celebrated by the Jews though without animal sacrifice. Origonally the high priest would enter the Holiest of Holies, the temples most inner sanctum, where the arK of the Covenant was. (If you remember "Raiders of the Lost Ark" you get an idea of what the ark looked like.) The priest would enter beyond a veil to the ark only once a year carrying the blood of the sacrifice. This blood was suppose to cover over the sins of the people. Now Jesus has become our High Priest and the Sacrificial Lamb of God. He has entered a greater temple in heaven with His own Blood to cover over our sins forever. Let Jesus shatter the darkness in your own life, forgiving your sins with His Blood..
The New Wine
The Blood of the Covenant was introduced to us at the Last Supper. We should never forget the price that was paid. The Scriptures prophesied through Isaiah 53 that " He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed." It is interesting that the Covenant of Moses which included the ten Commandments contained blessings of health and prosperity included in obedience, yet sickness and death for disobedience. (see Leviticus 26) But this is a new Covenant because in Jesus the law has been fufilled and we become partakers when we obey the Holy Spirit and live by the power of relationship with God. We need to understand that obediance is greater than any sacrifice that we could make.(Amen to that! Terri)
